About Us

Established in 2006, Happy Tails Alpacas is a small farm which was located east of Columbus, Ohio in the suburb of Blacklick through July, 2012.  We are focused on producing quality alpacas with superior fleece and correct conformation.  These goals directed the selection of our female foundation herd and purposeful selection of appropriate breedings based on evaluated needs of each dam.  We felt the best way to have quality production was to start with females who were already near the top of the standards.

Mentoring is one of the best ways to learn this business.  We have been blessed to find a professional mentor that has helped us take our program to the next level.  We have invested in our business by taking in depth classes on birthing, fleece preparation and running fecal examinations.  For new owners, we are ready to make sure that they understand the key aspects of taking care of alpacas.  We can provide information on business planning, farm layout, basic herd health care in addition to hands on learning experiences including feeding, trimming toe nails, giving shots, weighing animals, body scoring and last, but not least - scooping beans!  For the experienced alpaca owner, we stand behind the quality of our alpacas and offer a professional evaluation by an AOBA Judge for any animal purchased.

Building a strong industry is important to us. We are active in our state affiliate, Carolina Alpaca Breeders Organization.

Scheduled visits are welcomed because we enjoy meeting people who are exploring alpaca ownership or have already fallen in love with these amazing creatures.  We look forward to seeing you at our farm!
